וַתִּקְטַן֩ ע֨וֹד זֹ֤את בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וַתְּדַבֵּ֛ר גַּ֥ם אֶל־בֵּֽית־עַבְדְּךָ֖ לְמֵֽרָח֑וֹק וְזֹ֛את תּוֹרַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
Y aun te ha parecido poco esto, Señor SEÑOR, pues que también has hablado de la casa de tu siervo en lo por venir. ¿Es ése el modo de obrar del hombre, Señor SEÑOR?

12) "which a man shall do": R. Yirmiyah was wont to say: Whence is it derived that even a gentile who observes the Torah is like the high-priest? From "which a man (any man) shall do, and he shall live in them." It is not written: This is the Torah of Cohanim, Levites, or Israelites," but (II Samuel 7:19) "And this is the Torah of man, O L–rd, G d." And thus is it written (Isaiah 26:2) "Open, ye gates, and let there come" — Cohanim, Levites, and Israelites is not written, but — (Tehillim 118:20) "tzaddikim shall come therein." And (Tehillim 33:1) "Sing, tzaddikim in the L–rd" — not Cohanim, Levites, and Israelites. And (Tehillim 125:4) "Do good, O L–rd, to the good" — not "to Cohanim, Levites, and Israelites." Even a gentile who observes the Torah is like the high-priest.

Sifrei Bamidbar
(II Samuel 7:19) "This is the Torah of man": We find that there are three crowns: the crown of Torah, the crown of priesthood and the crown of kingdom. The crown of priesthood was merited by Aaron and he took it. The crown of kingdom was merited by David and he took it. The crown of Torah is left (vacant), so that those who enter the world be given no pretext to say: If the crown of kingdom and the crown of priesthood were left (vacant), I would merit them and take them. The crown of Torah is left (vacant) for all who enter the world. For whoever merits it, I account it to him as if all three were left (vacant) to him and he merits all of them. And whoever does not merit it, I account it to him as if all three were left (vacant) for him and he did not merit any one of them. And if you would ask: Which is the greatest of all? R. Shimon b. Elazar was wont to say: Who is greater, the crowner or the king? Certainly, the crowner. The maker of officers or the officers? Certainly, the maker of officers. All that inheres in these two crowns, comes through the power of Torah. And thus is it written (Proverbs 8:15-16) "Through me (Torah) do kings reign … Through me do princes rule." And, (in reversion to "This is the Torah of man"), (Koheleth 12:13) "The end of the matter, all has been heard. Fear G-d and do His mitzvoth. For this (Torah) is all of man."

Sifrei Devarim
(Devarim 32:50) "And die on the mountain which you are ascending": Moses said before Him: Why should I die? Is it not better that they should say "Moses is good" by sight than "Moses is good" by hearsay? Is it not better that they say: This Moses, who took us out of Egypt and split the sea for us and brought the Torah down for us and "flew in" the quail for us and performed miracles and feats of might for us, than "This and this is what he did"? and "This and this is what he said"? — whereupon He said to him: Leave off, Moses, this (i.e., death) is a decree for all men, viz. (Bamidbar 19:14) "This is the law: A man if he die in the tent." The ministering angels said before the Holy One Blessed be He: L-rd of the universe, Why did Adam die? He: Because he did not keep My commandments. They: But Moses kept Your commandments! He: It is a decree before Me for all men, viz. "This is the law: A man if he die."
